How long have you been in business?
10 years; I have been working full-time as an audiologist for 35 years.
What is your primary product or service?
Hearing evaluations for children and adults; hearing aids made by Starkey Hearing Technologies, Phonak, Widex, Oticon, and Siemens.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Worked with Ear, Nose, and Throat physicians for 25 years doing diagnostic hearing evaluations, hearing aid sales and service, vestibular testing, and auditory brainstem response testing for children and adults. In 2003, one of my physicians talked about plans to retire; I started making plans to open the Place for Better Hearing.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We allow patients a free "test drive" of hearing aids. We are not a high pressure hearing aid sales facility. We educate patients about hearing loss and hearing aid technology; we give them choices.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have one location with 2 audiologists and two sound treated booths. We do not have plans for expansion at this time.

We are located in Green Township, on the west side of Cincinnati. From I 74, exit at the Rybolt / Harrison exit. Turn left at end of ramp, then right onto Harrison Rd. Go straight until you reach Race Road at traffic light. Turn Right onto Race road (it turns into Glenway Road). Turn right onto Westbourne Dr. (at the second light past McDonalds). The Western Bowl is on the corner of Glenway and Westbourne Dr. Pass Perkins and Iori Insurance; our driveway is on the left. Pull up to the front door at 3302 Westbourne Drive.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash, check, Master Card, Visa, Discover, and CareCredit.
Which areas do you service?
Patients come to us; we serve patients in nursing homes and in their homes within the 275 loop. There is a travel charge for "in-home" service.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
We are open 9 AM -5 PM Monday thru Friday with evening and Saturday appointments upon request. We typically stay late on Mondays.
