Mother of Mercy High School is a four-year comprehensive, college-prep Catholic high school for young women. The school, sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy is located in Westwood, a middle class suburb
situated on the west side of Cincinnati. Over twenty elementary schools are represented in Mercy’s student population with the majority of students entering from local parochial elementary schools. An entrance test is required of all prospective freshmen. Students are considered for enrollment regardless of creed, race or ethnic background. In 2002, Mother of Mercy
received the Blue Ribbon Award by the U.S. Department of Education identifying it as a “Nationally Recognized School of Excellence.”
